Day 1: My 30 Day Writing Challenge

1 post everyday, for 30 days

I’ve actually been quite hesitant, as I’m largely of the opinion that quality should always trump quantity. I can only imagine that in my effort produce a new post every single day, I may not arrive at my best work.

But it’s been a while since I’ve been publishing regularly, and I’m burning to return with a vengeance.

It might take some getting used to.

To be fair, there are some pretty legitimate reasons for my hiatus.

I’ve recently had some very significant changes in my life. They are all quite positive steps forward for me as an individual, and are each momentous enough to deserve a blog post of their own. These things have taken up quite a chunk of time, but have left me feeling accomplished, competent, optimistic, determined, and with a semblance of autonomy over the direction of my life.

I’m currently doing my best to strike a good balance between the plethora of things that I want to be doing. I need to make decisions about what to invest my time in, while also remembering to take care of myself. I’ve come to terms with the reality that I can’t do it all, and my personal wellbeing shouldn’t suffer in my attempt to do so.

Starting on a 30 Day Writing Challenge is my way of investing in this blog. I want to build some good writing habits and routines, and improve my ability to write with gravity and impact. I really hope to improve the quality of my writing and streamline my creative process, gradually reducing the time it takes me to write a good blog post.

It’s a hell of a commitment, but in a month’s time, I may just look back and wonder why I hadn’t tried it earlier.

1 down, and only 29 days to go.
